Key visual

Intelligence made visible.

The key visual is not directly a part of logo design, but under certain conditions, it is a very effective add-on to the logo. The key visual is an image motif that is used in campaigns in order to enhance brand recognition

Visual hierarchy is all about setting priorities. What do you want people to see first, while they’re merely glancing over your design? And then, when they like what they see, people will start skimming.

This will make another level of the hierarchy stand out to them. This is often a bot smaller with the less energising colours or less contrast in the bg like the second line of grey text you see in this image. Only when people consciously take the time to start reading the text will text that thiner, smaller and less contrasted be noticed.

Now, where it becomes fun for me as designer is when I start playing with these wishful elements to attract attention to the right places.

Using an anomaly to standard visual hiereachy of the page layout will give the control over usesr’ path of attention. It really draws the eye of the user to this text. In most case, we say that the bold text has more visual weight than the regular text.

Generally speaking, more visual weight attracts more attention when combined with less heavy elements.
